SEO for home improvement companies: one project, many months of reading

A kitchen, a bathroom or a new roof is researched for weeks. The homeowner reads about cost, looks at finished projects, compares two or three companies and only then fills in a form. A home improvement site is judged over that whole stretch, not in a single visit.

How much should I expect to pay for SEO?

Who holds the results

All ten places on this query belong to marketing agencies, from large national firms to small shops. No home improvement company ranks for it.

Homeowners do not type this phrase. They search the project and the place: bathroom remodel in their town, roof replacement cost, basement finishing near them. That is where the competition for a home improvement company actually is.

One page per project, one page per area

Kitchen, bathroom, basement, roofing, siding, windows and additions are each a separate purchase with its own search. A page for each, with your own finished work on it, is what gets found.

The towns you really work in need their own pages too, with projects completed there. A single service area list in the footer does nothing for the search that includes a place name.

What the homeowner is reading for

Cost ranges per project type, with what moves the number. The most common question in this trade is how much it will cost, and the company that answers it honestly gets trusted with the estimate.

Finished projects with before and after photos, the scope and roughly how long it took.

How the process runs: the estimate, design choices, permits, the work itself, the final walkthrough. Uncertainty about disruption stops more remodels than price does.

Licence, insurance and warranty in one place, and reviews that mention the type of project the visitor is planning.

Our published prices: $800 to $2,500 for a one page site, from $3,000 for a business site, $250 / month for ongoing search work, one month at a time.
