SEO for electricians: the emergency call and the planned job are two different customers

An electrician gets two kinds of visitor. One has no power right now and will call whoever answers first. The other is planning a panel upgrade and will read for a week. The same page cannot serve both, and most electrician sites try.

What are some good SEO keywords for electricians? · What are some effective marketing ideas for electricians?

Source: DataForSEO live search results, measured 14 September 2026. Search results move, which is why the date is here.

Who holds the results

Nine of the ten pages in the top of this query are marketing agencies selling to electricians, and the tenth is a discussion thread. Not one electrical contractor is there.

That is the usual shape of a trade query at national level: the people ranking are selling to you, not to your customers. Your customers are searching with a town attached, and that is a different, much shorter list of competitors.

Two visitors, two paths

The emergency visitor needs the phone number, the service area and the hours above everything else. No slider, no long introduction. If a call takes more than one tap on a phone, the next result gets the job.

The planned-work visitor needs the opposite: what a panel upgrade or rewire involves, how long it takes, what it costs, and whether you pull permits. This person is comparing three companies and choosing the one that explained the work.

Give each of them a page. One says what to do right now, the other explains the job. Trying to do both at once is why so many electrician sites convert badly.

What people actually ask next to this query

The questions Google shows here are about keywords and marketing ideas, which tells you who reads these results: other electricians running their own site, not homeowners.

So if you are an electrician reading this, you are the audience, and the honest answer is that your money goes further on town-level pages and a licence-and-insurance page than on anything national.
