Service
WordPress website development
If you want your site on WordPress, we build it on WordPress. Our honest view first: for most small business sites a hand coded site is faster, cheaper to run and has nothing to update. But if your team already works in WordPress, or you want to edit pages yourself in a system you know, that is a good reason, and we build it properly: a theme written for your content, not a bought theme with a page builder stacked on top.
What you get
- A custom theme written for your pages, not a marketplace theme with your logo dropped in
- No page builder: the editor stays simple and the pages stay light
- Only the plugins the site actually needs, each one named in the handover notes
- Editing set up for your team: the fields you change often are easy to find and hard to break
- Technical SEO from the start: clean markup, titles, sitemap, schema
- Speed measured before launch, with the number shown to you
- You own everything: the site, the theme code, the domain, hosting and the admin login
How it works
- 01
Scope
day 1 to 3
One call, then a written scope: pages, what your team will edit, which plugins are needed and why, fixed price and dates. This is also where we tell you if a hand coded site would serve you better.
- 02
Design
week 1 to 2
You see the real first screen and one inner page in the browser, not a flat picture, and we change it while it is still cheap to change.
- 03
Theme and build
week 2 to 5
The approved design becomes a WordPress theme, the content goes in and the editing screens are set up around what your team actually changes.
- 04
Launch and handover
final week
We move it to your domain, check forms and speed on the live site, and show your team how to edit it. Logins and theme code are handed over.
What it costs
Ranges, not a single number: the final figure is fixed in writing before we start. Responsive design and on page SEO are included, not add ons.
- One page on WordPress
- $800 to $2,500
- Business site on WordPress
- $3,000 to $7,000
- Large WordPress site
- $8,000 to $22,000
- Store on WordPress
- $4,500 to $10,000
- Care and updates
- $95 / month
- Hosting
- $25 / month
A single offer and one action, editable by you.
Five to ten pages with a custom theme. The usual starting point.
Many services, locations or authors, where the editing structure matters most.
Catalog, product pages and checkout, when you want the store inside WordPress.
WordPress, theme and plugin updates, backups and fixes when something breaks.
If you do not have hosting yet. The account can be in your name.
When WordPress is the right call
- Your team already edits in WordPress and does not want to learn anything new.
- Several people publish pages or posts every week.
- You are moving an existing WordPress site and want to keep the same admin.
When not to hire us
- You want a bought theme installed and filled in. That is a cheaper job than ours, and you do not need a studio for it.
- The site needs twenty plugins to do what you want. We will suggest building those parts properly or on a different base, and say so before you pay.
- Nobody will ever edit the site after launch. Then WordPress gives you updates to maintain and nothing in return, and a hand coded site is the better buy.
Work we have done
Questions
- Do you build websites on WordPress?
- Yes, when you want WordPress. We will first say whether a hand coded site would suit you better, and if you still prefer WordPress, we build it with a theme written for your content.
- Why do you say hand coded is better?
- For a site that rarely changes it has fewer moving parts: no plugins to update, no admin to protect, nothing that breaks after an automatic update, and it loads fast without extra work. WordPress earns its place when people edit the site often.
- Will my WordPress site be slow?
- Not the way we build it. Most slow WordPress sites are slow because of a heavy bought theme, a page builder and a long list of plugins. A theme written for your pages avoids all three, and we measure speed on the live site before handover.
- Can I edit the site myself?
- Yes, that is the main reason to choose WordPress. We set up the editing screens around the things you change often, so updating a page does not require touching layout.
- Can you take over or rebuild my existing WordPress site?
- Yes. A rebuild of an existing site is a redesign: we keep the pages that earn traffic, map redirects and move the content across. Taking over care for a WordPress site someone else built starts with a look at the site, and then we say what it needs.
- Who owns the site and the theme?
- You do. The theme code, the domain, the hosting account and the admin login are handed over at launch.
